Terms of Use
What using Cowboypoets means
Reading Cowboypoets, following its links or using its festival and music pages signals that you accept the terms set out here. They are short and written for a site about verse, song and gatherings. Questions can go to [email protected].
General information about poetry, music and events
Articles offer general background and personal opinion on cowboy poetry, western music and festivals. Histories of poems and songs often have competing versions, and we do our best to flag them, but we cannot promise every attribution is final. Event dates, lineups, prices and locations change often and are not guaranteed. Confirm details with the organizer before you travel or buy a ticket. Outdoor gatherings can involve weather, rough ground, livestock and crowds, so use your own judgment about safety and plan for your own needs.
Ownership of material
The articles, layout and original images on the site belong to the operator or appear with permission. Poems, lyrics and recordings quoted or mentioned remain the property of their authors and rights holders. You may read, share links and quote a brief passage with a clear credit back to the page. Posting a complete article on another site, or building it into something sold, needs our written consent first.
Respectful use
Do not attempt to break into the site, flood it with automated requests, spread harmful code or use it to send spam. Keep your use within the law wherever you read from. If someone’s behavior puts the site or other readers at risk, we may cut off their access.
What you send us
When you send a correction, a festival tip or a poem credit, you confirm that you may share it. You allow us to read it and use the idea to improve the site, with no duty to reply or to publish. Please do not send your own poems or lyrics expecting them to be protected by us, and do not send material that belongs to someone else.
Ads, affiliate links and linked sites
The site may show advertising and may include affiliate links, which can earn the operator a small commission at no added cost to you. Those links do not shape what an article says. Readers may be pointed to festival organizers, ticket sellers, instrument makers, record shops or collections of verse. All of those sit outside our control, and we are not answerable for their prices, shows, goods or content.
Warranties and liability
Cowboypoets is provided in its current form, and a page may be out of date or briefly offline. As far as the law permits, the operator does not promise that it will be accurate, complete or always online, and is not liable for losses arising from using the site, for example a trip planned around an event listing that later changed. Any rights you hold under mandatory law stay intact, as does any liability the law does not allow to be excluded.
Updates and severability
These terms and the site may be revised from time to time, and a revised version takes effect when it appears on this page. Should a court find one clause unenforceable, the other clauses continue to apply.
